Out with the old, in with the new! In order to make room for new stock, sometimes you have to let go of previous models. You see it every year with different vehicle manufacturers; they phase out your favorite car series. When it happens to an industry giant and luxury automaker like BMW, however, you find yourself just a little more upset than usual! Unfortunately, the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe is just one of the BMWs we’re saying goodbye to in 2020.
Much like the popular villain from 2019’s hit movie series, Avengers, the powers-that-be at BMW simply snapped their fingers and got rid of the BMW 6 Series GT, the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe, and the BMW 3 Series GT. The company had a great idea when they decided to flood the market with hatchback sedans. Not only would you drivers be able to enjoy great gas mileage and easy maneuvering and parking due to the smaller size, they’d still be able to bask in the luxury that only BMW can provide.
While we have to be honest and say we won’t really miss the BMW 3 Series GT as much as we should, we will say that we’re devastated to be losing the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe. The low, well-proportioned exterior looked amazing. The vehicle was also a smooth, great ride, perfect for long trips across the country.
There is, however, some good news. Even though the 6 Series Coupe will be gone, the same style (or a very similar style) can be found with the 8 Series Gran Coupe. That means if you enjoyed the style of the BMW 6 Series GT, you’ll still be able to enjoy the sleek lines in the new 8 Series. Let’s embrace the new!
