Over a year ago, BMW released a little something out into the wild – the BMW 535d. This was their diesel version of this particular 5 Series. The unfortunate part is that when BMW released it, it was only in Europe. In fact, they waited well over a year to finally bring it to the United States. So while we’re behind in enjoying the benefits of this particular car, at least now we can finally say we have it on our side of the pond.
It would also seem that amidst the 5 Series, the 2014 BMW 535d is just right when it comes to power, price, efficiency, and handling. In essence, it’s the whole package and what many BMW lovers have been waiting for when it comes to the 5 Series.
Built with a 5.0 liter I-6 turbo-diesel engine and combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission, you can expect to see 255 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque. Going from 0-60 mph means it will only take 5.5 seconds. Weight is evenly distributed, so you can easily expect a sturdy grip on the roads and easy handling even if it is a little heavier than you might be used to. Even so, it’s quiet and the 26/38 mpg city/highway gives it an easy edge over a lot of other vehicles.
Comfortable as only a BMW can be, the interior is full of all the tech goodies and entertainment delights you’ve come to expect from BMW. If you have yet to seek out a 2014 BMW 535d for sale, now is a good time to consider investing in one. Clean, quiet, smart, and at an excellent price, this BMW is certainly worth a much closer look, even if you’ve never had a diesel car before. You might find yourself surprised at just how much you like it.
